Restylane Silk in Evansville and Jasper, IN
Like the rest of the face, the area around the mouth can show signs of aging. New Restylane® Silk injections are specifically formulated to target the area around the mouth for a smoother appearance. Restylane® Silk injections performed by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Ryan Flannagan at Flannagan Plastic Surgery could be the solution for all Evansville, Jasper, Southern Indiana, Northern Kentucky and Illinois residents who want to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
What is Restylane® Silk?
Restylane® Silk is a dermal filler specifically designed for the area around the mouth. It is a solution that mimics hyaluronic acid, a natural chemical in the skin. The molecules in the filler bond with the body’s tissues and act as moisture retainers, allowing the restoration of the skin. The lips lose volume and fullness over time and lines and wrinkles form, changing the appearance of the face. Restylane® Silk is formulated to work with the expressive muscles around the mouth.
Benefits of Restylane® Silk
Restylane® Silk is primarily used to treat lips that have lost their plumpness. It is also used to treat fine lines around the mouth, commonly referred to as smoker’s lines. Restylane® Silk injections have a very low risk for allergic reaction. Derived from non-animal products, the body is able to fully absorb the hyaluronic acid over time.
When compared to other lip augmentation solutions, Restylane® Silk treatments result is a more natural appearance, smoothing lines and restoring volume to the lips.
Is Restylane® Silk Right for Me?
Dr. Flannagan recommends Restylane® Silk for patients looking to improve the volume the lips or to rejuvenate the area around the lips from fine lines and wrinkles. If you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your mouth due to lost volume or increased lines, Restylane® Silk may be right for you.
What Is a Restylane® Silk Procedure?
A minimally-invasive procedure, Restylane® Silk treatments are performed in our office. Dr. Flannagan schedules a consultation to discuss your desired results. He plans the specific amounts to use and the locations for the injection sites. Several injections may be used to achieve a natural-looking result.
Many patients prefer a topical anesthetic to ensure complete comfort during the procedure. Dr. Flannagan uses a thin needle to inject Restylane® Silk gel directly into problem areas around the mouth. The treatments take around 30 minutes to complete. Patients generally see results immediately, with continued improvement over time as hydration to the skin increases. Results last up to 6 to 12 months before patients need follow-up treatments.
