Are you unhappy with the size, shape or droop of your breasts? If so, a breast lift or breast augmentation may be for you. Different surgical procedures are available to you, depending on what it is you want to achieve. To decide which procedure (or combination of procedures) is right for you, consult with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons.
Benefits of Breast Augmentation
If you want bigger breasts, a breast augmentation may be a good solution for you. You may have naturally small breasts, or you may have experienced a decrease in breast tissue due to weight loss or fluctuating hormones. Regardless of the reason, there is little you can do to naturally increase the size of your breasts. Breast implants may be the answer.
Benefits of a Breast Lift
A breast lift is needed when there is extra skin or excessive sagging of the breasts due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or aging. If you are happy with the volume of your breasts but unhappy with the position, a breast lift may work for you. Look in the mirror. When breasts droop and the nipples are pointed downward, many women decide to have a breast lift. Remember, a breast lift alone will not change your breast size and it will not round out the upper part of the breast.
Which Procedure Is Right for You?
Remember that breast augmentation primarily focuses on breast size and shape. It will not correct drooping breasts. A breast lift primarily focuses on breast position. It will not increase the size of your breasts. Many patients decide to do both procedures together to get the fullness they want in their upper breasts, along with repositioning sagging breasts and nipples.
